Spike's story meant a whole lot to me in seasons five and six, but after the soul I just lost interest. I know some people liked souled Spike, but for me, the doormat that he became just wasn't the Spike I loved or identified with.
I kept watching because I enjoyed participating in the fandom. But lately it's been so hurtful and cruel; what's the point?
At least there are still many people who are kind and thoughtful, and of course, there's still fanfic, which I continue to enjoy.
