I think I'm definitely going to use LJ to keep up with people I know and like instead of using it like a mailing list. It's just not very well suited for discussion and debate, given the highly personal nature of LJ for so many people, and the extremely differing views of what's appropriate etiquette.

Anyway--I'll still be reading your journal, of course, because I know and like you! And I wish you were in NYC too! I'm looking forward to the next time you visit. :)
