Honestly, I think the site is pretty redundant. All you have to do is add the right people to your LJ friends list and you'll have a lot more fic than I'll ever manage to post, plus you can develop friendships with the authors and comment back and forth. LJ has made my archive mostly irrelevant.

Just my .02 (and please don't think I'm nagging you about it)... but I don't think this is true. I know that personally I don't have the time or desire to hunt out all the good LJ fic authors, and friending people carries a lot of overhead in addition to the fic. I don't normally want to add an LJ to my friendslist unless I think I'll enjoy reading the majority of the owner's posts, and that I could like and have something in common with the owner. But as you pointed out, it's a lot more political than that. I'd rather avoid the politics and read the archive. (Also, the commenting back and forth and establishing some sort of relationship with the author is draining to an introvert like me - I prefer to limit the circle of people I have direct contact with, to save my own energy and sanity. Sometimes all I really want is the fic.)

The only thing is, that still leaves you stuck with the politics, which isn't right either. I hope you can find a way to stick with the archive and ditch the politics - though I'm not going to be cursing your name or anything if you don't, since I imagine it swallows a lot of your personal time.

This is a long-winded way of saying what I've said before, which is that your archive is an extraordinary (and IMHO quite unique) resource, and your efforts really are appreciated by a lot of people.

I still like it.

::hugs you::
