I guess the other thing that changed for me was that I developed a much better understanding and appreciation for the craft of writing itself. So now I can love stories because they are written beautifully even if the portrayal of Spike doesn't quite work for me. Whereas originally, it was all about whether I felt the portrayal of Spike was both done well and done in a way that specifically appealed to what I was looking for in the character.
I have a hard time enjoying stories that aren't written well, just in general. It's been very rare that I've wanted to archive something because it had interesting themes/characterization/etc. and decided against it because it wasn't done well technically. (And occasionally I've given in and archived something that wasn't quite up to par technically, but had some other aspect done well enough to make up for it.)
I'm just flattered you either 1. liked/agreed with my perception of Spike enough to archive my stuff and/or 2. thought it was well done enough to archive even if you hated the story(s). *G*
Well, I certainly didn't hate any of them! The thing about your writing is that you write so well that I love that aspect, even if the portrayal of Spike isn't exactly what I look for. (Though I like the way you write Spike most of the time, too. I probably interpret certain things a lot differently than you intend them, though. ;)
And if you ever write some S/A Pr0n, there's a page waiting for you on StA for sure.
You are so cool. Thank you. :) (I don't write, but, y'know, if I ever did.)
