I hate that I get so emotionally involved in fictional worlds

Me too. And I keep coming back for more, get upset again, read more fic to distract myself, get emotionally involved again, and etc.... it's a damned circle of pain. I hear ya on the Sirius fic. All Marauder fic depresses the hell out of me, no matter how well crafted.
