Yeah, I know, I'm a great big con whore. They're just so fun!
This one is pretty much the polar opposite of last week's. I was working my ass off at the last one; this is going to be a low-key, I'm just a guest enjoying the con kind of thing.
This is all about panels: 30-something tracks, all with simultaneous nearly-24-hour programming. So you pick and choose what you want to do.... there's a Buffy track, Star Wars, Star Trek, Young Adult Literature (Harry Potter!), Goth track (members of the Cruxshadows will be participating in that one!), Writing, Science, Computers/Technology, Tolkien, blah blah blah. Pretty much everything you can think of that's in some way related to sci-fi. Plus this huuuge masquerade, amazing costumes, concerts and contests and performances and parties all night long. They have something like 20,000+ people attending.
Not really many Buffy guests this time around (alas, no Nicky). I think the only ones are Julie Benz (Darla), Nathan Fillion (Caleb), and the guy who played gay Larry. BUT, anniesj might be there! And since I'm over the whole Buffy thing anyway, I'm really looking forward to the Harry Potter stuff. And to getting drunk and hanging out and making up for the depressing melodramatic crap that was much of last weekend's con.
And Nicky ... once again, I apologize for the lack of fascinating dirt. He, uh, looked fine, and seemed in shape, and his wife was really sweet, and his brother was nice .... I'm sorry! ;)
