I don't adore Veronica, but I like her infinitely better than I ever liked Buffy. She takes responsibility for her own actions instead of whining and blaming circumstance. And she sees the world for what it is, instead of chasing some ridiculous fantasy of "romance" and "normal."

Actually, what I like about the show is the fact that Veronica starts out the season chasing just that - romanticizing Duncan, longing for her place among the popular kids, and vowing to reunite her parents without regard to what they want. But unlike Buffy, she has the capacity to learn.
