the things you learn from LiveJournal

Man, you don't read LiveJournal for a few days, and you miss all kinds of exciting things.

I'm not sure what's funnier, the polyamorous horse fucker or the fact that Joss Whedon still thinks he can pass Xander off as a sex symbol.

I also spent an inordinate amount of time yesterday reading Wil Wheaton's reviews of old Star Trek episodes. I'm amused by the little snippets of memory I get from having watched this show as a kid, plus Wil Wheaton is always an entertaining writer.

You know you're tired when it seems like more effort to get up and go home than to sit at work for an extra hour skimming LJ...

Hahahaha, omg, that's Comic!Xander? If Canon!Xander had looked like that, maybe I would have liked him more. Wait, no. The whole asshole personality thing kind of ruined that, unless Comic!Xander got a face transplant too.

It's farcical isn't it.
Nick Fury wants his look back, with extreme prejudice.

Now, I should note that I, personally, have nothing against those who like Xander. Some of my favorite people are Xander fans.

... but from over here in the anti-Xander camp, that image is pretty damn funny!

(Here is a [despite the caption] much nicer kitty to make up for it.)

Wil Wheaton is a God.
Why did I not know this?

Evil kitty is my compensation? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I love you.

Xander ain't sexy? I did not get that memo.

I crush on the geeks, I do.

See, you understand. I'm not insane for disliking Xander. But how do I succinctly explain why I don't like him, without sounding like a jerk myself?

[identity profile] rusty_halo.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
He wasn't so bad in the first season, but I really started to hate his hypocrisy, his whininess, his entitled attitude, and his tendency to judge everyone else.

Plus, Joss-penned snark aside, he was pretty dumb. I like my geeks smart. ;)

I don't mean any offense to the Xander fans, I just personally could never stand him.

Looks like the Xanman got a personality and body transplant after he lost his eye.

Hey, don't be knocking my Nickey. Sexy man!

[identity profile] queenofattolia.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Xander was Whedon's admitted "alter-ego," so of course he will be depicted in this comic as a thin, sneering, tanned, swaggering patch-wearing romance novel cover model. Because he was, you know (and the true reflection of the inner glory of his creator). We just couldn't see it on the show, blinded as we were by that pesky Spike. But now we all must love Xander and despair! Or something.

Wow, that horse lover thing is odd. I really don't understand. But I don't need to.
