Heh -- agree totally about the upcoming SoI&F series, for exactly the reasons you mentioned. If it ever gets made (and there's no guarantee it will), it will go the way of Deadwood and Rome, which actually will be a blessing, because I'm sure someone like Bill Paxton or Peter Krause or Thomas Haden Church will be cast as Jaime and Ali Larter or Chloe Sevigny as Cersei. Bleh. Unless they hand things over to the Brits (and they won't now that Rome has "tanked" in their sights), HBO is fairly, horribly predictable about casting. Triple bleh.
I must agree that it would be satsifying to watch Ned Stark die a horrible death onscreen, though. He bugged me, too. This is another of my Unpopular Fandom Opinions, along with being totally indifferent to Sirius's death in HP.
And hell yes MLK would be labeled a traitor by the Bush regime if he were alive today. I'm still reeling from their official riposte to Nancy Pelosi suggesting that they're deliberately and underhandedly putting more troops in harm's way in Iraq to further their insane political agenda -- they said that it was "poisonous" of her to say this because "there are people over there in harm's way!" DUH. Whom YOU put there uselessly, you morons!

There aren't enough expletives in the world.
