Ten Albums you own...
Okay, I'll go with my ten favorites (modified to include only one per band) since I own something like 300 albums:
Dirt - Alice in Chains
In Utero - Nirvana
Vitalogy - Pearl Jam
The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails
Violator - Depeche Mode
Live Through This - Hole
Superunknown - Soundgarden
Cultural Minority - Uranium 235
Nihil - KMFDM
Antichrist Superstar - Marilyn Manson

Nine bands you've seen live
Uranium 235
The Cruxshadows
Foo Fighters
Korn
Marilyn Manson
Nine Inch Nails
Depeche Mode
Pearl Jam
KMFDM

Eight Songs you'd die without
(I'll just ignore the silly wording of this question)
I have a really hard time choosing individual songs; I always think in terms of albums. But here goes:
Angry Chair - Alice in Chains
All Apologies - Nirvana
Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode
Black - Pearl Jam
Bleed My Disease - Uranium 235
Man That You Fear - Marilyn Manson
Down in a Hole - Alice in Chains
Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana

Seven of your favourite lines in songs
Oh, I so suck at choosing individual lines. I just want to say "the whole thing." But let's try:

"When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed" - Marilyn Manson, "Man That You Fear"

"If I can't be my own / I'd feel better dead" - Alice in Chains, "Nutshell"

"I'd like to fly / But my wings have been so denied" - Alice in Chains, "Down in a Hole"

"Weight of my heart, not the size" - Alice in Chains, "Angry Chair"

"Stare at me with empty eyes and / Point your words at me / Mirror on the wall will show you / What you're scared to see" - Alice in Chains, "Hate to Feel"

"I know you will be a star / In somebody else's sky, but why / Why can't it be mine?" - Pearl Jam, "Black"

"She lived like a murder, how she'd fly so sweetly / She lived like a murder but she died / Just like suicide" - Soundgarden, "Like Suicide"

(And bonus, lines I love because they're unintentionally funny:
"Field of pain is where I graze" - Alice in Chains, "Angry Chair"
"I hit you with a rake" - Alice in Chains, "Dam That River")

Six albums you wish you owned
Well, if I wished I owned it, I would buy it, right? But I'll try; see how clueless I am about any music that's been released in the past 5 years.

Whatever that new band is with Chris Cornell singing.
Whatever Pearl Jam's come out with since "Yield" (anything? I haven't kept up)
Whatever Manson's come out with since, uh, what was it called? "Mechanical Animals"?
Garbage's second record. Version 2.0, is it?
Something by the Genitorturers; they were cool in concert.
The new Cruxshadows record. (There's a new one, isn't there?)

Five songs that make you sad
Alice in Chains, "Nutshell"
Alice in Chains, "Down in a Hole"
Pearl Jam, "Black"
Nirvana, "Something in the Way"
Soundgarden "Fell on Black Days"

Four songs that make you happy
What is this "happy" you speak of? Umm.....
Uranium 235 - Stimulation
Pearl Jam - Spin the Black Circle
Nirvana - Sliver
Smashing Pumpkins - Today

three bands/songs you're embarrassed to say you like
I'm not embarrassed about what I like. If I feel embarrassed that I like something, that's a clue that I need to stop and examine my priorities. If I honestly like it, I must have a good reason, and I just need to get over the embarrassment. If I examine all possible possibilities for liking it and find nothing but embarrassment, that means it must conflict with my values somehow, which is probably a clue that I should stop liking it. Either way, I see no reason to be embarrassed by what I like. But then, I think guilt/shame/embarrassment are stupid emotions anyway.

Two voices you'd die without
Layne Staley
Dave Gahan

One band you thank god for
I first thought to say Alice in Chains, but actually, I'll say Pearl Jam. Because it was liking Pearl Jam, and then reading interviews with Eddie Vedder, that led me to start caring about politics and the world around me. That had more influence on me as a person than anything else music related, so I'll thank Pearl Jam for existing, and Eddie Vedder for being so socially conscious and responsible. When I was 11/12 and needed an intelligent, compassionate authority figure to look up to, he fit the bill very well, particularly with his support of women's rights and freedom of choice.

Let's see ... my flight is suppposed to arrive at Tampa around 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. Then at the hotel, [livejournal.com profile] jaydk (Jane) and I are staying with Alane (the woman who co-runs BAPS) and Jennette (um, I have no clue who she is). So assuming the flight goes well and we make good time, we'll be at the hotel hanging out by tomorrow late afternoon/evening. Are you going to be at the cocktail party? I'm assuming I'll meet lots of people there. Oh, and there are panels Friday afternoon too, I'm going to try and get to some of those.

Ooooh, I'm so excited!!!! I'm having the most incredibly difficult time concentrating on work today.
