I'm a bit fuzzy on the US political system, but how long before the federal government enacts over-ruling national legislation to counter this?

There's talk about a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, but it's doubtful that such a thing will pass. This will start before that, anyway.

Wow. I'm surprised, but in the best of ways. This is really kickass. ::cheers:: I've heard that they're thinking of ratifying an ammendment about not denying same-sex marriages. I really hope that this is a true turning point.

Yea, and Ohio did the opposite. Banned anything remotely resembling legal gay unions and any benefits from said. Ever. To supercede Federal stuff- is that even legal???

I know. It's depressing. Maybe I'll move to Canada.

But Massachusetts is still cool.
