New York Comic Con

New York Comic Con
http://www.nycomiccon.com

February 24-26 at the Javits Center in NYC
$35 for a weekend pass

Kevin Smith is the guest of honor. Schedule at a glance.

I'm not going back to San Diego this year, but I think I'll check this out. Anyone else going?

Also, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult is playing that Saturday night, Feb 25, at Avalon (formerly Limelight, on 6th Ave at 20th St). Anyone want to go see them with me?

I'm probably going to give the con a look. It's not like it's a big hassle to go :)

I'm not into Thrill Kill like I used to be, and the last time I saw them they were baaaaad.
Now if Raymond Watts was playing with them, that'd be a different story.

I'm going to go because I've never seen them before, but yeah, I'm not expecting anything great.

Incidentally, someone from TKK keeps talking on MySpace about how he's helping organize a fall Chemlab/Pig tour (the mere thought of which is giving me continuous mental orgasms, despite the fact that Chemlab and Pig are both denying it).

Dude, don't put something like that out there and then say they're denying it. That's cruel.

I've only seen Thrill Kill twice, and the first time was a lot of fun. You never know, you could have a good time. All by your lonesome. Aww. :<
Laibach is another band you have to see for the experience. And Einsturzende Neubauten, so I've heard.

Well, on the plus side, they're denying the tour, but not the fact that, if there was a tour, Jared and Raymond would be making out in the bathroom. (Mmmmmm... happy thoughts.)

My friend Ewa likes Laibach. I'll ask her about them. I only know that one song, Life is Life or something.

I'm not in the Chemlab forum so I can't see the picture. :<

Laibach's famous song is their cover of Queen's One Vision. Their videos are hysterical.

Ah, not actually a picture. Someone commented that if the tour happened, Jared and Raymond would be found making out in the bathroom. Jared replied that they would but only if the commenter joined them. Someone else warned that plenty of fangirls would be willing to pay big bucks to see that, then Jared's wife commented that she already had. Then the woman who represents Raymond said that Raymond denies the tour, but not the possibility of the "manwich." All mixed with various plays on the "Brokeback Mountain" title ("The Brokeback Techrat tour anyone?" etc.).

Well, I found it amusing.

I'd love to see TKC but I will be out of town that weekend. Boooo!
