I went to see the Daily Show yesterday. We had VIP tickets since we didn't get in the first time. It was really cool--we were right up front (front row, actually), on the left side of the room. Although unfortunately, Jon did the headlines facing away from us.

He was cool--came out and answered some questions beforehand, and was very friendly. It was clearly a matter of watching someone at work, though, going about his daily routine. Between segments he had a guy telling him sports scores, which was cute. At the end they kept us extra long in order to film the intro to the international version. Oh, and it was awesome to see Jon and Stephen chatting via the satellite link thingy.

It should be re-running today--look for my red hair for a fraction of a second during the opening. ;)

Queens? Are you fucking kidding me? I don't even want to go all the way out to middle of nowhere Queens. The place is going to be empty.

Meh. Whatever. Not my problem. :P

Mt Tabor? That's kind of small. I think I saw a Black Sabbath cover band there once.

Slick Idiot is pulling 25-50 people at various small venues (according to ... I think I was reading reports on thesickcity). Is Pig going to pull more people than Slick Idiot...? Raymond did tour with KMFDM more recently ... BUT Slick Idiot has toured itself much more recently.... and even KMFDM's audiences have been drastically shrinking....

I am not hopeful. Even though I'm sure I'll work my ass off promoting this thing anyway, and feel like a fool when 30 people show up. *sigh* Fucking QUEENS, are you kidding me, on a Saturday night when everyone's going to be at Albion? GAAAAH.

Last time I went to Queens for a concert was Uranium 235, when I was a kid and thought I could singlehandedly prove to the world how wonderful the band was. I've long since realized what a waste of time such efforts are.

I think it'll sell well. Sabalo's isn't quite a hole in the wall, I'm just surprised that they're not at a larger venue like the Aladdin theatre. Music scene's quite varied here (though ever other hipster and their cousin is apparently a DJ. If I wanted to hear the same mix of shitty trance music twenty times over, I would have stayed in Ibiza), so there's a good chance Pig'll pull in a crowd.
