Christ, I don't get people.

Specifically, people who get angry at you for friending them. For the following reasons:

* They're under no obligation to friend you back.

* Stuff they post on LJ is public anyway, unless they friends-lock it.

* If I was a real stalker, I wouldn't friend them; I'd just go to their journal's URL and read. Or if I was a lazy stalker, I'd add them to an RSS aggregator so they couldn't see that I was watching them. A friends' list is really just LJ's own version of an RSS aggregator anyway, except LJ's method lets you see who is watching you.

* Therefore, the fact that I've added them to my FL is completely irrelevant, except in the sense that it saves me the time of having to load up their journal individually.

* If they don't want strangers reading their stuff, THEY SHOULDN'T POST IT PUBLICLY.

Actually, I use it to keep in touch with people I already know, but if other people want to friend me, more power to them.
