SPN 7×02
Yaaaaaaaaaay that was so much better than last week. :) :) :)
Mainly because Dean was pretty and got significant scenes and there was h/c and actual compelling emotional content for Dean.
I need some kind of Dean-related emotional hook to care about--the initial family relationship with John & Sam, the whole complicated transformational friendship with Cas, the longing and need with Lisa & Ben, etc. "How Dean figures out how to take care of emotionally broken Sam" is good, I'll go with that. Yay for show coming up with a way for Dean to look out for Sam without regressing the characters.
Also if they won't get rid of Bobby, at least getting rid of his house is a good step! For a show that got rid of the Roadhouse because it became a narrative crutch, they sure kept Bobby's place way past it's expiration date.
Also yay for Dean taking Cas' jacket and the acknowledgment that Dean had just lost one of his best friends. (So are we actually supposed to think Cas is dead? I mean, it's SPN, he's already died at least twice. It'll be really disappointing if they don't try to surprise us with his return.)
I also greatly appreciated the continuity in the reference to Martin from Sam, Interrupted (AKA Lazlo from Real Genius) and also WOW this ep was so cracktastically all over the place. At least it was definitely the kind of thing where you don't know what to expect next!
Negatives: I love Sheriff Mills but as soon as she started investigating, I called it--the most proactive, problem solving thing a woman can do on this show is call in the menz to save her. >:(
Anyway, aside from that, great ep that I can't wait to rewatch. :) :) :)
