Hey, it's a meme!

"Part of being on Livejournal.com is inevitably gaining a number of LJ buddies. Unfortunately, as time wears on, it's easy to forget where all of them came from. Post this in your journal and have your friends respond with how they recall first 'meeting' you."

Normally I don't do these, but I am dying of boredom at work today. Dying, I tell you. A week of fun in Vegas just makes sitting in an office for eight hours about a million times more dull that it already would have been....

So, entertain me. How did we meet?

Ooh! Ooh! Let me be the first to say "You asked to archive a story and I was terribly flattered." I think you're going to get that answer a lot. ;)

Heh! Well, I knew *of* you before that, but I first met you at the LJ brunch so graciously organized by [livejournal.com profile] _flaming_june_ and then I guess later that summer, you and [livejournal.com profile] jaydk and I got together to watch some Sharpe (which we should plan on doing again before she goes back to Evil Law School, yes?)

Your site put you on my radar. I'm not sure when you noticed me, so let's just say "Vegas, baybee!" ;)

Sorry work is so boring - so, I'll bite :)

We met because I found out you run 'All About Spike' and it is *such* a great site, I wanted to get to know you better :)

I knew of 'All About Spike' but don't remember talking to you until we went out to dinner in Tampa. I had been intimidated by you, and I thought you didn't like my work because you hadn't asked to archive anything - but you said I was wrong and you liked my writing, and I got all 'squee-y'.

You mean, you forgot?? Aaah, I'm hurt. (:P)

November 2002. Sent you an e-mail telling you that you were right about redemption and that your site rocked. We started talking, you asked if I wrote - back then, you had the time to go around asking *G*. The rest is history.

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] miggy. You were after the Spike bit of "Some Years Later".

I hope work improves.

My first con was Shore Leave. I must have seen you then, but I also remember seeing you in photos here and there--particularly that one with JM. Then, at Tampa last year, you sort of were this quiet, beautiful person who I remember talking to Shauny about--you were wearing a hair extension that she asked you about. I was really surprised when you took a picture of me and Chris by the pool. But you know, I'm pretty sure we didn't really actually *meet/meet* until a Common Ro gig this past year, unless I've forgotten.

You seemed sort of enigmatic, and true to my warped self, I assumed that I'd never get to actually know you, since you seemed far too cool.

[livejournal.com profile] elizard100 introduced us at the Creation Con with Emma in Brooklyn - - - whenever that was. When was that, last year? Year before? I can't remember...

Ummm... on lj, you added me. In the general fandom, I fell across all about Spike early in my fanfic search and soon spurned all other archives.

I was prompted to look at your LJ by a comment from Wiseacress, related to vegetarianism. Then I realised you ran THE archive, and was hooked.

We met for the first time at Cleveland Vulkon in 2003. We were actually introduced to each other by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] elizard100. Since then we have met up at several different cons. I have a habit of taking really good pictures of you (if I do say so myself).

I had previously been to All About Spike but was not really familiar with you as the owner of the site. I don't think we had actually "talked" anywhere online before that either, even though we were on a couple of the same lists.

So, yeah, Cleveland.

Hmm. You left a review at ff.net about my first story, Aftermath--two whole years ago! Two or three months later I stumbled across All About Spike, but didn't realize it was your archive; I was just excited to find such a high-quality Spike fic collection, although it was still pretty small at the time. I remember on my first visit I read Moose's "The Doublemeat Experience," which had the best Spike voice I'd read in quite awhile.

I was so impressed by the site I ran right over to TWoP and recced it. I didn't realize you were the same person who reviewed Aftermath until you asked if you could archive it and Bag of Bones.

I've really enjoyed getting to know you on LJ. Although sometimes I have to fight my impulse to say, Forget the Sirius fic! Draco fic's the good stuff!

:late replier:

It's been a long time. I was pretty new to livejournal, and I was figuring out memories. I have no idea whose memories I was in, but they linked me to a post of yours where you talked about Spike, and your thoughts about what the show had done with the character.

I couldn't help it, I had to friend you. I think/hope I commented in that entry to tell you that, but I may not have.
