I have a very important announcement.

My new OTP, Marilyn Manson/Stuart Townsend, will be appearing together on "Last Call with Carson Daly" tonight at 1:35am on NBC.

Unfortunately you won't get to see how incredibly into each other they were during the commercial breaks. But it's still worth it to see the awe-insiring beauty of the two of them onstage together. Clearly, it's a love that is meant to be.

So, um, don't miss it. And look for me and jaydk in the audience. (I'm the one with really red hair and she's the one hiding under her coat in embarrassment because she's in the audience of "Last Call with Carson Daly.")

In other news, Mary sent me the draft version of the next part of "Journeys," which I'll be posting at All About Spike shortly. Keep an eye out. And I know I have a bunch of other authors to archive/reply to/etc. I'm working on it. Just, slowly.

Hey, I'm cringing even remembering it. Ironically, wearing the same coat today. (Now perhaps known as the Coat of Shame?)

Stuart Townsend's new movie opens today, the one he was theoretically on Carson Daly to promote (as opposed to simultaneously freaking out/attracting Marilyn Manson, which is what he actually did). It's gotten fairly bad reviews but, you know, Stuart Townsend = Pretty. Maybe we can ignore the talking parts? Speaking of, did you ever watch The Queen of the Damned?

Oooh, his new movie opens today? We must go see that. But I want to see the new Jude Law movie too. Hmmm ... decisions, decisions....

Yes, I watched "The Queen of the Damned." Had a whole long post in my head but never bothered to write it down. I was actually expecting something much worse, given the reviews; it was awful, but it wasn't that awful. "League" was much worse.

And I like Jonathan Davis (singer from Korn, who did Lestat's voice) even though I thought his ultra-raw style was totally inappropriate for Lestat. But I thought the music parts were done very well, much better than the embarrassingly cheesy way they were done in Rice's book (which I otherwise liked, but knowing the rock world as well as I do, those parts made me cringe).

Plus, the DVD includes three of Lestat's music videos, which are homages to old silent horror movies that I watched in film classes, and I really loved those. And the director/writer commentary was fascinating ... you can see why they made the choices they did, in an attempt to be more "cinematic," even though they ultimately ended up dumbing down the story and removing nearly every interesting or thought-provoking element.... (and the stupid romance... bleeech...)

Not a good movie, but an entertaining movie. And Stuart Townsend, pale, shirtless, in makeup and leather ... *sigh*

Oh, cool, I'm glad you're coming to town. I'm not actually reading LJ much anymore (:::guilt:::) so thanks for letting me know... hope we'll be able to meet up.

Yes, tivo it! Manson's not so bad, anyway. He's very smart and funny. And Stuart Townsend is just beautiful.
