social networking

rusty-halo.com

Trying to figure out how to use tumblr vs other social networks. I think maybe the breakdown is something like:

tumblr = random shiny things
delicious = fic and meta recs
lj/dw/wp = actual writing and thoughts
twitter = no
facebook = hell no
google plus = google, i do not want to be a pawn in your doomed attempt to kill facebook

Does this sound right?

Anyway if you want to follow me on tumblr, I am at http://drinkthehalo.tumblr.com (aaaah someone stole both my aliases already!! so i had to make a stupid hybrid name).

Please link me to yours if you have one; I’d love to follow you guys there too. :)

Yeah, that sounds about right to me. XD I'm also trying to get ~up on all my social networking opportunities. A fair number of my friends actually hold meta/speculation convos on Twitter though for the life of me I cannot FIGURE OUT HOW. They swear to me it'll make sense the more time I spend there but I'm not seeing this. I need my threaded conversations, okay.

My Tumblr name is mikake; I've started following you~

Ha, Tumblr is definitely all about the random shiny things! As far as I can tell, there isn't communicating on Tumblr so much as sharing things...and then being offended by what other people have shared. Everyone is continually offended, which is rather enjoyable.

I'll be on the lookout for Avengers posts for you. :0D

You forgot pinterest, which is random even shinier things. But this part:

<< twitter = no
facebook = hell no >>

cracked me up, because it's exactly how I feel.

I suspect there's a fannish aspect to pinterest but I don't do anything fannish there, so I'm just not exposed to it.

And nothing could make me happier than to see Facebook go belly up.

That sums it up pretty well.
