I watched the clip, and while I find Barrowman hotter than hot, I can't help but cringe. And did it remind you at all of how Buffy and Spike got off fighting first and then screwing? That's exactly what I was thinking while watching it.

Oh, it totally reminded me of Buffy and Spike. But back in the day, I used to like that. They both got off on violence, but they were equals, and superpowered beings who could take it. I didn't start hating it until ME twisted it into this whole "Spike is abusing Buffy" nonsense.

Amen to all of the above. I actually am in the camp of bemoaning JM's arrival on Torchwood, as well. I thankfully never got to see much of his antics in person, but I heard about it and saw him once at DragonCon in Atlanta. It only took 1 time of hearing him to think 'OMG, you have GOT to be kidding me'. Thankfully it was a con, and I had better things to do. :) I will definately have to check out that clip, though. If his character is good, I can get into that. I like characters - usually I don't give a whit about the actor for the exact reason someone mentioned above - if you meet the person, disappointment tends to be the rule. "Oh, damn. Human. :)"
