Same here... all my biggest fandoms involved the supernatural in some way (Star Wars, X-Files, Highlander, Buffy, The Dark Tower series, A Song of Ice and Fire...). I enjoy characters, and I can get into other stuff that doesn't have supernatural elements if I really love the characters. But the stuff I adore deeply needs good characters and fantasy elements.
