At least Davies and his pals know that unrelenting romantic masochism in a story can make one hate the love object and lose respect for the one who does the unrequited loving."
Your reasons for loving DW are much more lofty and on point, of course. I'm still like a dog with a bone where certain things are concerned, though (thanks a lot, Whedon), and thus I'm very glad Davies and co. aren't into boring, ridiculous hackneyed love triangles.
