I like that such an on-the-surface fluffy episode actually has a very dark subtext when you watch it in retrospect.
I found a lot of S2 (AND the Doctor) had a bit of dark subtext to it. Although at the time I felt I was beating my head against the wall of Ten = Fluffy Teen!Dream Doctor. I was peevishly elated when he took The Family to the wall in "Family of Blood". It was if we were getting little glimpses of the "I used to have so much mercy" Doctor and it was delicious.
