I just looked over my con report and I have a new resolution. From now on, I will do my very best to use the words awesome, totally, and cool no more than once per post, and never in combination. I am not a ninja turtle.

Heroes in a half-shell/Turtle power!

I read this, and had to laugh. I'm a victim of using those three words WAY too much.

I think it has something to do with being born and raised in California. And watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. ;)

Hehe, yup, I think it's a TMNT thing. I loved the show and the movie, especially every incarnation of Donatello.

Hehe.
Maybe you have the same problem I have - if I'm excited about something, the part of my brain in which my vocabulary is stored seems to go minimalistic :o).

Yes, but not only does my vocabularly go minimalistic, it retreats to silly 1980's teenage slang. Why???? I'm sure there are plenty of other people who grew up in the late 80s and yet do not say "awesome" as every other word when they're excited. At least I don't say "bodacious" or "tubular" or whatever else the turtles used to say. ;)

Maybe the brain acts regressive when floated with too much endorphine, because I have the same problem (and was a teenager in the late 1980's myself :)). Naturally, I use the german "fashion-words" of that time, which sound a lot more stupid than the english ones, believe me.
Every time I try to compliment a person who impresses me, I want to smack myself afterwards. :o)

Yeah, I'm starting to worry that for the rest of my life, I'm doomed to sound like Bill & Ted whenever I'm excited about something. "Excellent, dude!"

*hangs head in shame*

Yes, me too. Once when I was babysitting, the 3-year-old asked me, "Why do you say 'cool' all the time?" (Every time he'd tell me something, I'd say, "Oh, that's so cool!"). I was so embarrassed. Yes, I have a problem. (I have a vocabulary, I swear! I got a perfect score on the verbal SATs! I just don't use it.)

I'm blaming my hyperbole and lack of original adjectives on sleep deprivation and a still-present buzz from a great weekend :)

By the way - it was lovely meeting you! You're a class act, lady :)

Lisa (aka the Sparklies lady) - I'll post when my piccies go up!
