Revenge of the Sith

[mild spoilers for the new Star Wars movie]
I was so deeply disappointed by the first two Star Wars prequels that I've done everything in my power to avoid anticipating the new one at all. It's going to suck, I have no expectations whatsoever, and therefore if through some astounding magic it actually ends up decent, I'll be impressed.
But...
Kevin Smith's review of Revenge of the Sith (contains major spoilers)
I read this and got so excited I almost couldn't breathe, and almost started squeeing loudly at work.
Kevin Smith:
I remember being eight years old, and reading in "Starlog" that Darth Vader became the half-man/half-machine he was following a duel with Ben Kenobi that climaxed with Vader falling into molten lava. Now, twenty six years later, I finally got to see that long-promised battle...
That's me! Except it wasn't Starlog and it was fourteen years ago, but otherwise that's me!
::dying with anticipation, despite myself::

*sigh*
But... maybe this one will be better!

Date: 2005-05-04 03:01 pm (UTC)Actually, I do still like the lightsaber duel in Phantom Menace, but that's about all the first two films have had to offer for me. I really, really tried to like something about the second one, but the truth is not even Chris Lee could keep me from falling asleep.

It took a lot to un-fan me. But it won't take much to pull me back in. :)
