So I'm finalizing my plans for Comic Con, and I have a question for those who've been there:

Is it safe to leave Sunday evening, or should I wait until Monday morning? It looks like the con is going to wrap up on Sunday afternoon, but are there unofficial events on Sunday night that I'd want to stick around for?

Any info you can provide wuold be appreciated. :)

P.S. Anyone else going to Comic Con?

Definately stay through Sunday. I used to fly to the con from Seattle every year, leaving on Sunday. One year I stayed through till Monday and it made all the difference. No running around the last day with the constant "will I make it to the airport in time" going through my head.

Now I live here, so it's not an issue anymore. :)

I'm going.

Don't know about the Sunday night thing, though.

I'll be there! Sunday afternoon it really starts to get quiet and all the vendors are breaking down. You are pretty safe to leave that evening anytime after 5pm.

Thanks!

I'm debating, because I sort of want to go to work that Monday, to save vacation days... but it would have to be a red eye flight and then straight to work. :(

We'll see.

I didn't know you were going, btw! I'm going with Tammy and Shauny; hopefully we'll see each other. :)

I'm going.

There are always Dead Dog parties on the last day of the con, but I've never gone to any, so I can't tell you if they're worth attending.

There's a lot to be said for not feeling rushed, though.

I had so wanted to go, but it looks like it's not happening this year. Too many health issues, and what with not working during them, my trip fund is very low. *sigh*

Everything travel is on hold at the moment - I don't know what I'm gonna find out from the gastro doc in a couple weeks. *sigh*

Ah well, there's always next year!

Well, everyone else will also be trying to get out on Sunday night, so you might want to postpone until Monday am. Sundays are pretty mellow at the CC itself -- everyone is getting ready to go home, breaking down the booths, etc. and the programming is geared toward kids and/or less showy guests (usually comic artists, independent filmmakers and fringe animation people). Still, it's nice to wind down after all the frenzy on Saturday. I guess it all depends on how anxious you are to get back to NYC.
