Uranium 235 last night. Wow. Memories.

It's hard to describe what this show meant to me. I'm trying to fit it into Buffy fandom context. Okay. Imagine if, instead of being on once a week, Buffy was only on about once a month. And it was live, instead of on TV, and you had to travel to go see it. You started going by yourself, or with some friends, but you ended up meeting other fans there and developing relationships with them. So you'd all travel from all over, New Jersey and Long Island and Connecticut and Boston and DC and NYC, and the only times you'd get to all hang out together was at these shows. (The rest of the time you'd communicate online, but that's just not the same.)

So you do this for two years, and then the show gets cancelled (aka, the band breaks up). And suddenly you don't have any excuse for all your friends to travel insane distances to hang out together anymore. So you don't see most of them for 2 1/2 years, and then...

The band plays a reunion show! (Sorry, I don't know how to translate that into Buffy-think). So you see all your old friends (and acquaintances) again after almost three years!

I feel totally dead today. I was standing in high heels from 9pm - 2am, so I'm exhausted and my back is killing me. My throat is also aching from all the smoke (no smoking in the club, but we spent most of the time outside). That's one thing I don't miss about Uranium shows. But overall: really cool experience, so good to see everyone again.
