Happy Birthday, Evil Lucifer Cat....

Um, that aside, today is good because I'm about to leave work early to wait in line for The Colbert Report. Even freezing rain can't keep me away from Stephen Colbert. :)
Today is also good because it's Lucifer's birthday. Nine years ago today, Shadow (a stray cat I'd rescued) gave birth to four kittens in my laundry room. Lucifer was the second, and the sweetest.
This is Lucifer in my brother's hand, the morning after he was born.
This is Lucifer outside for the first time, when he was a few weeks old. (This was during his fluffy phase.)
This is Lucifer's dream face. I've never met a calmer, happier cat.
Lucifer grew up thinking that Darth was his father.
Lucifer has magical balancing abilities.
Just look at that face.
And, of course, Shadow deserves massive credit for bringing him into the world and for being a calm, attentive mother. (And an awesome cat in her own right.)
Oh, and Veronica Mars last night. Still a silly show, but I had to watch it because Logan plus little girl just inherently equals awesome. It's the Spike/Dawn factor. Plus the shout-outs to "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" were nifty. Yay for that tragically overlooked movie becoming a cult classic!
Anyway, even though this "holiday" sucks, I hope you all find something to enjoy about it. Have a good day! :)
