Dude. I go off LJ for a couple of weeks, and no one bothers to tell me that Dumbledore is gay?

I mean, I read him as gay anyway (Dumbledore/Grindelwald was the slashiest thing since ... well, since Remus/Sirius), but I see the world through slash goggles. I'm pretty stunned that she actually came out and said it.

Yes, I'm annoyed that it's not canonical. Yes, my shipper heart is pissed that she didn't follow it up with "and Remus and Sirius were bisexual."

But. Mostly I think it's cool that she said it at all.

I think you may be wrong about Sirius and Lupin. Lupin could be bi, sure. Although I could see his relationship with Tonks being something comfortable, a safe haven after losing Sirius. But we never saw Sirius with any woman ever at all and those he loved best were James and Remus so I think he may have been completely gay.

They're both gay in my head actually, but she had to throw in those posters of girls on Sirius's wall (and, y'know, Tonks). So I say bisexual as a concession that would make everyone happy....

well...it was only two days ago.

i think it is bullshit, although I suppose it is interesting to have had her say it, and it be *out* there, now. I have one friend who posted about it with some interesting comments:

Wow. I'm honestly surprised she outed Dumbledore. I love it. I love that she specifically mentioned Grindelwald and how love drove those actions.

But I do think that making it part of the book would have explained a lot more about Dumbledore's actions and brought more depth and understanding that whole history. Such a loss.
