Just got tickets for Marilyn Manson at Hammerstein Ballroom on January 30. My friend April (who I haven't seen since she OMG HAD A BABY!) is coming with me. Anyone else going?

I know Manson sucks now, but it's a nostalgia thing; I can't help it. Antichrist Superstar was good. And I have strangely happy memories of waiting in line huddled in a sleeping bag in the freezing cold for eight hours just to get a front row spot when I was eighteen, so it would just feel lame to not go at all when he's back in my neighborhood.

Also got tickets for Macbeth starring Patrick Stewart at BAM for March 11. Good seats, too. After the awesomeness of King Lear with Ian McKellen last year, I'm really looking forward to this.

I am also so excited that I'm going to see David Tennant in Hamlet this year. So totally beyond excited. That and the fact that I get to spend time in London again. It's the thing I'm most looking forward to in 2008.

Oh, and in case you haven't seen this: YEARS worth of RPF fantasy material.

YAY for Macbeth!! I got my tix today - and arranged baby sitting :P I'm really excited about this too - especially as I like "Macbeth" much better than I like "King Lear" ANYWAY.

Hee. Come visit! I'd totally be up for seeing it twice. Or you could come when we're going, March 11, which is also Jane's birthday. Tickets are still available; we bought the $60 seats for the back orchestra.

man, i don't want to invite myself on her birthday. i totally am trying to figure out when to come, because he's amazing live. i don't know about march 11, since the comprehensive exam will either be the weekend before or after. if before, great, i'd need the break, but after and i really, really need the time to prepare. i emailed the guy who coordinates, but haven't heard from him yet. fucker better check his email, i don't want to put it off. the 2/17 tix that include his talk after are already not available and i want a good seat, whatever date i go.

did you read the new jon chapter at grrm's site, yet? stannis is such a curmudgeon and his red bitch is scary. i need to reread it.

I liked the chapter! Someone was saying that it might hint that Melisandre knows or will figure out that Rheagar is Jon's father. Which would be pretty interesting given her obsession with burning kings....

Well, I actually randomly bought the tickets (three, for me, Jane, and her roommate) and THEN realized it's Jane's birthday. D'oh! But it's a fun birthday thing and she seemed okay with it.

I'd be willing to go again, though, so if you want, just pick a date that works for you (check with me first to make sure I don't have any conflicts) and get us tickets. Worst comes to worst, you can sell them (probably at a profit) if you're unable to come.

Given the misery that Stannis gave Jon in this chapter about not being/choosing to be legitimized, it would surely kick his ass to find out Jon's true parentage. Whoa.

OMG! Just noticed your icon. I love it.

There's a bunch of ASOIAF fic in the Yuletide archive. I haven't read any yet, but some of it looks good.

I love "Macbeth" better than "King Lear," but I love Ian McKellen more than I love Patrick Stewart. So I expect it'll be about even. But since I *adored* "King Lear" I'm bound to enjoy "Macbeth" too. :)
