It is shocking. Once I began to get invested in communities and the likes, I was floored at the discussions going around. Especially when people started discussions, it often resulted in defending one's point of view which, I believe, should never been done in a fandom. People may disagree on certain aspects of the show but you shouldn't have to defend yourself because of it; people should accept it and move on.
I think I'm starting to ramble now so I'll quit while I'm ahead. xD
