Thank yous are perfectly fine when you've defeated the CGI monster. I'm not arguing with the thank yous he gave her in most of the episodes. But going through three months of being treated like shit for being the wrong colour in 1913 or a year of walking through a warzone and being chased by psychotic beach balls ought to warrant more than just a thank you. Something like "Wow, that must have been really hard walking around the world. You're really good."
But of course, I'm probably thinking with my genitals again.
