Choose five series (no peeking before you choose them), list them, and then answer the questions behind the cut.
1. New Doctor Who
2. Life on Mars
3. Highlander
4. Buffy
5. South Park
1. Which is your favorite series from your list? And why?
Right now it's probably new Who, because it's what I'm into at the moment. Highlander seems to be the thing that I've loved longest, but then again, I haven't bothered to watch a non-Methos episode in ten years.
2. If you were to pair two characters from 1 and 4, who would they be?
Hmmm. It might be fun to see the Doctor and Anya being abrupt and socially incompetent with each other.
It would be *really* fun to see the Master, as "Mr. Saxon," running in an election against the Mayor. The Master would be the vaguely hopeful liberal candidate, and the Mayor would be the ultra-conservative family values candidate, and they'd both spout feel-good political bullshit with an apocalyptic subtext that only the audience would pick up on, and they'd snark nastily at each other during debates while pretending to be polite. And the subtext would be so vicious, and the looks on their faces, and they'd be surreptitiously trying to figure out ways to kill each other, but with that smug wholesome attitude on top, and god it would be awesome.
3. What is one thing you'd like to change about 3's plotline?
Ummm. The show would've been about Methos instead of that boring MacLeod guy. Or at least they'd have had the Methos and Joe spin-off instead of wasting everyone's time with that awful Amanda thing.
4. If both main characters of 2 and 5 were falling off a cliff, which one would you save?
Well, I'd easily choose Sam Tyler over any character from South Park. (Although if Sam was falling in an attempt to get himself back to 1973, I guess I'd have to let him.)
5. Which event was the most horrible for you in 1?
I'd have to say the end of "Doomsday." I still have to brace myself to watch; it makes me cry every time, and I just so completely ache for the Doctor and Rose. (I would've said the end of "Last of the Time Lords," but c'mon, the Master's not really dead. Though it is awfully depressing that he didn't turn out to be the Doctor's S4 companion!)
The second most horrible event is the fact that David Tennant spends over half of what should be his big epic showdown episode with the Master hidden by bad age makeup/crappy CGI. >:(
6. Which is your least favorite character of 2?
Ray makes my skin crawl.
It also really bothers me when they try to act like Gene is an admirable Dirty Harry type vigilante hero, because I like Gene, but only when the darkness and ambiguity and deep deep flaws of his character are acknowledged. And Dirty Harry's fucking creepy.
7. If the antagonist of 3 were to rape the main character of 1, what would you do?
Who is the antagonist of Highlander? I'm going to say Kronos, since he's my favorite. What would I do if Kronos raped the Doctor (?!). I would probably enjoy reading that fic, to be honest. A big hurt comforty darkfic. Hmmmm.....
8. What song reminds you of 5?
Um, the South Park intro song? Chef's chocolate salty balls song? Cartman's "Kyle's Mom's a Bitch" song? "Blame Canada"? South Park has so many awesome songs of its own.
9. Of 1, 3, and 5, which is the easiest to think about?
Doctor Who because I can't stop thinking about how lovely David Tennant and John Simm are.
10. Are the protagonists of 2 and 4 similar?
My initial thought is "God no!" because I love Sam and hate Buffy. I guess they're both self-centered, but Sam actually has a good reason to act like no one else's emotions matter but his own.
