[livejournal.com profile] wiseacress wrote fic for me. I'm happy. :) Read it here.

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] jaydk and I went to Central Park and listened to opera. For someone who hates being outside and has no interest whatsoever in opera, I actually had a decent time. I'm sure it was the good company. Some guy gave us a helium balloon, and I carried it around the city as we wandered around afterward looking for a restaurant. Balloons are cool. We ended up at a Spanish/Italian place, where Jane had pizza and I had gazpacho. Yummy.

It was really funny how, as Jane explained the story of the opera to me and we discussed it, we kept drawing parallels between it and BtVS. Yeah, we're obsessed. (Sorry; I forget the name of the opera. I utterly lack culture.)

I was going to post about BtVS and gender again, but I'm fairly certain that everyone else is sick of me talking about it, and I'm actually sick of talking about it too (for now; I'm sure I'll be ranting again in a week). So I'm just going to link to Kristen Smirnov's essay, which covers my thoughts quite well. If you haven't read it yet, check it out here.

Dammit, now I have to actually go work. Today at 3: World's Most Boring Meeting.

Ahh, my essay which I'm sure was never read by a single person it was addressed to. Oh well. It was certainly cathartic to slap stamps on the copies and drop it in the mail. *g*
