Happy birthday
_jolielaide. Hope you have a wonderful day. :)
I haven't been keeping up with my friends list at all. I hope I haven't missed anything hugely important, and if I have, I'm sorry.
I am still roommate hunting, which is getting ridiculous. *sigh*
When I'm not roommate hunting, I'm reading Remus/Sirius fanfic. Or going to see The Prisoner of Azkaban for the seventh time. Or re-reading the Harry Potter books. This is so not good; I don't want Harry Potter to be my new fandom! Please let this be a temporary obsession.
I can't let myself get into a fandom in which my favorite character is dead. It's only going to end up making me miserable.
I really did see PoA last night for the seventh time.
jaydk and I went to see it in IMAX (my second time seeing it in IMAX). It's quite worth it to see it on the huge digital screen; you catch every littlest detail.
jaydk is a fun person to get into it with, because she's also reading a lot of Remus/Sirius fic, but she's interested in it because she likes Remus, whereas I'm into Sirius. So we get some pretty interesting discussions about it. I rarely tend to be any kind of shipper at all (I'm much more interested in characters), but those two do just complement each other so well....
Anyway, so that's what I'm up to. Mostly just checking in.
I have a million updates to do for All About Spike. I'm working on it.
Oh, and I'm immensely looking forward to Writercon, which nearly everyone on my friends list also seems to be excited about. Can't wait to see you guys there....

Date: 2004-07-08 09:23 am (UTC)Canon Draco sucks, but Fanon adult!Draco is hella fun.
I find with Potter fandom, the timeline is super important. I'm not a fan of post-Azkaban Remus/Sirius, but give me anything Marauders!era and there is nothing better.

Date: 2004-07-08 05:08 pm (UTC)You're impossible to catch online. One second you're there, the next - poof. And me wanting to congratulate you for your birthday. I know, I'm late (I did post about it but LJ is being its usual uncooperative self) but for what is worth it my thoughts were with you that day. *hugs you* Hope you had fun, sweetie. :)

Date: 2004-07-08 02:20 pm (UTC)It would be like bringing back Tara after "Seeing Red"; Tara (according to ME) had to die for Willow's story to work. I don't think Sirius is important enough to merit a return (unlike, say, Angel, who had to return for a spinoff, or Spike, who had to return because the WB wanted him, or Buffy, who had to return because it's her story). As much as I'd love it to be the Sirius Black series, it's Harry's story, and I can't see how bringing back Sirius would fit into the overall series. Harry needed to learn a lesson from Sirius' death; resurrecting Sirius would only take Harry's development backwards.
Um, which isn't to say that I don't want him to come back, because his story is a million times more interesting to me than Harry's. But I don't want to get my hopes up.
