This is interesting. I forget how I clicked to it.

I'm a zombie today. Was up late last night baking more cookies -- anise rum. Yummy. (Basically the sugar cookie recipe with anise, cloves, and dark rum added. And I tried two icings, both with anise, one with rum and cloves, the other with maple syrup and cinnamon. Both good.)

I was looking at a few recipes this year that called for anise, but I chickened out. I was afraid it would be too strong.

Mmmm, it's like the best taste ever.

Well, I'm hugely partial to anise. I grew up eating these anise cookies that my dad would make, Springerles, which his aunt taught him, which came from an old German recipe apparently. So I think anise in cookies is an excellent idea....
