Should I go see My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult tonight?

They're one of those pivotal industrial bands that you ought to go see just... because. I've known about them for 10 years, and I like what I've heard of them. Plus they're playing in my neighborhood.

OTOH I only really know two songs, and it would take, you know, effort.

go for it! It's always a high energy show (seen them twice)
If you need a serious Pick-me-up, make the effort :o)

The last time I saw them, they were pretty awful, but that was... hmm. 1999? 1998? I think I'm getting old, as I can no longer remember dates. They may have gone back to being good live since then.

I think you should go. (says she whose ass grows roots in the couch the minute she sits down upon arriving home)

You know, that getting back in touch with the music thang you spoke about?!

Your future can be one of two realities: the one where you stay home and your life is exactly the same as it is nearly every night, so that by the next day and the next, it remains an undistinguisable blip of a day in the life of

or

you go, hear a band, hear live music, create an experience wholly unlike anything else you've recently been through, life goes on, as usual, yet you've got this one thing new to challenge the mushy neurological pathways so used to the paths they've been on.

or not. you know--just go. might be cool.

I know, I know, I know. You're totally right. That's what I tell myself all the time.

But then I'm tired, and I just want to eat and sleep and, y'know, veg out.

It would be different if I had someone around here to go to these things with... shows or clubs or whatever. The thing is, it's not very fun to go alone. I end up standing in the back feeling awkward, and tired, and self-conscious, and wishing I was home.

I'm really depressed lately. I wish you-know-who would write back.
