Well. That was an interesting weekend.

Friday I transferred keys from stakebait (who was going out of town) to kita0610, ros_fod, and swmbo (who were staying in her apartment). Which was actually a very good thing, as I wouldn't have even known everyone was coming to NYC if they hadn't contacted me. (That's what I get for not paying attention to LiveJournal....)

So then Saturday I met up with about 25 LiveJournal people at this bar/restaurant called Blue Mill in the West Village, then saw Vincent Kartheiser in a play about teenage prostitutes, then walked around the village and ended up in a bar with maybe 10 (?) LJ people.

The play was awful. But I don't think many people were there for the play. VK was pretty. And naked. And that's really all that counts. (I have to admit, he's not my type at all, but the enthusiasm was infectious). Oh yeah, and Minnie Driver was sitting in front of us; how random.

Of course, the best part was seeing everyone. It was awesome to see _jolielaide and saussy again. And I'm very proud of _jolielaide for actually going up to VK after the play and getting his autograph for witling (who I'm sorry couldn't make it). It was great to see kita0610 again, and though I don't know ros_fod well, her VK obsession is adorable. justhuman ended up sitting next to me, so it was cool to chat with her in person. I ended up squeeing over Queer as Folk with several people, which was way fun. (I love fannish people! You can never have that kind of "OMG ISN'T BRIAN KINNEY THE COOLEST EVER!!??" type conversation with boring real-life people.) I can't remember everyone's LJ name; there were a lot of people I didn't know, or only sort of knew (my fault, for drifting away from fandom; I don't mean offense to anyone). Next time: nametags. :P

So anyway. It was a little weird, and a little rushed (I wish I'd had more time to chat with a bunch of people), but ultimately really cool to catch up with people I knew, and great to meet new people.

P.S. DragonCon. C'mon, you know you want to. :)

I was one of those Brian Kinney people! It was a pleasure to meet you, and I hope we can get together again sometime, as I'm in the city fairly often. =)

Okay, the sad thing? That's actually true. I re-watched season one and am currently re-watching season two. I haven't watched anything else; I even skipped The Daily Show and the new South Park.

oh....I know it's true...

I pondered watching S1 this weekend, but opted for looping P&P. Mostly because I currently don't have my S1...

NO! THAT DOESN'T MEAN I'M HINTING!!! I wouldn't have watched them, anyway. Um. I think P&P is stuck in my DVD player... Why else would it keep playing? OH NO! I'm stuck in Darcy Hell!

So, NO! NO! NO! That doesn't mean you need to send them, I plan to pick them up on my next visit...so, I'll just enable you that much longer.

I would *love* to do DragonCon, partly for the guests and of course partly to just see you and hang out for a weekend doing fun stuff but don't think it's going to happen. I'm doing a regular vacation just mere weeks before that and I just won't be able to afford DragonCon as well.

Also, I keep meaning to drop you a line and thank you for the lunchbox and matching mug. That was so cool and such a lovely surprise. So thoughtful of you. I got such a kick out of it and I keep it on my desk at work so that people walking by stop and do a doubletake. Thank you so much hon.

I'm sorry you won't be able to make it to Dragoncon. :( But of course I understand the financial aspect.

I am hoping that, because of the large Jossverse presence, I'll know a lot of people at Dragoncon this year. My favorite part of cons is, of course, hanging out with people. :)
