I was without internet for four whole days. *sob*

It feels so good to be back.

jaydk and I spent most of the time watching the first season of Veronica Mars, so now I'm all into it again. A couple of VM-related questions for anyone who can answer:

1) Is there a new episode this week?

2) Where do I go for spoilers?

3) Pleeeeease recommend me some good Logan fic that is either gen or slash. (No het.) Angsty is good, long and plotty is better. (I'm not looking for one of those long rambly introspective second-person things that never goes anywhere and drives me insane with its vagueness and self-absorption.) Does such a thing exist? ETA: preferably current fic, at least post 1x22.

(It's weird how I was happy to read anything well-written that featured Spike. I'm much pickier when it comes to Logan--I've tried the recs over at vm_fic, but so much is centered on Veronica. I basically like her as a [very flawed] character, but I have zero desire to read about her in fic. I'm mainly interested in the fucked-up Echolls family, and in Logan's relationships with Duncan or Weevil.)

I think jennyo wrote some Logan/Weevil early last season. romanticalgirl and fox1013 have written some gen/not het fic I think? vm_fic has different rec days and I'm pretty sure they've had slash rec days before. There's a variety of fic recs here. Hope this was at least somewhat helpful; I don't read much in this fandom and when I do it's Veronica centric so yeah.

I like Veronica (at least, S1 Veronica), but I guess I get all the Veronica I need on the show. I have a perpetual lack of satisfaction when it comes to Logan, though--there's just never enough of him.

Dude, I brought it up like five separate times. Every time she mentioned reading anything else, I hinted that she could be reading Martin instead. I even gave her shit for reading a romance novel on the train instead ASOIAF. I don't want to drive her too insane (she can be stubborn if you annoy her too much), but yeah, ask her--I'm backing you up! (She just has this silly complex about Jaime throwing a kid out a window...)

(BTW, do you watch Veronica Mars? Logan is totally the Jaime Lannister of VM. >:)

I'm deliberately very clueless on spoilers, but there's definitely a new ep, and there was a duncan/logan group with some good stuff. ::rummages:: Well, no, that's threesomes (loganhasvd). Try this one: vm_slash I haven't read from there in a while, but during S1 there were some good ones. And there's silentsiren. She had a W/L series that I really enjoyed. I'm going to go find an old post at vm_fic for you -- there are several truly incredible slash pieces from last season, including a particular Aaron piece that you must read.

See, but we have to emphasize the REDEMPTION STORY, because the Jaime who threw Bran out the window is no more and I know she loves a good redemption story like no one else. Maybe I will make her read my Giant Post of Jaime Love when I finish writing it.

As for Logan ... See, my problem is that I like my Reforming Villains to be Grandly Evil - Kingslayer, Small Boy Flinger, etc. So anyone who just is kind of nasty to the poor kids in school or was a con man (Sawyer!) just doesn't cut it for me. They need to up that grandeur quotient for me to really love them ;)

i think that's why she'll appreciate the todd manning reference, because when he tries to be good, he still does some really shitty stuff--but he loves who he loves so completely, and he does stupid things because of it...his redemption arc was a huge issue, and people loved to hate him. todd's stuff was a big act, a lot of the time. he was also extremely abused by his father--but his thing was he was going to reject/hurt people before they could reject/hurt him, not to mention his wacky moral compass.

definitely want to read the big!jamie!post! i'm still in the early part of the newest book, as i just got the book on cd and have limited time available. lessee--i've just started the first pov of theon's sister.

OK, first of all, I must friend you NOW because R_H was mentioning you when we went to the Martin signing and also, Kingslayers Kingslayer-lovers must stick together ;)

Secondly, yes, this Todd chap sounds very much like Jaime ("I'm not ashamed of loving you, only of the things I've done to hide it ..." GAH!)

heh! There seems to be a lot less hostility towards Jaime these days on the big ezboard discussion group than there was when I last visited a few years ago ;) This is all to the good - everyone will recognize how awesome he is eventually!!
