I'm leaving tomorrow for New Orleans and Convergence. Eep! I really need to plan these things more in advance; I haven't even printed out a list of vegan-friendly restaurants yet, never mind choosing clothes and packing!

I'm going to the con with drujan, so at least I'll have someone to hang out with. Assuming we don't kill each other. ;)

Strangely enough, there's no one there I really want to see. Rasputina should be interesting, but I don't love them, and I'm still annoyed at Bella Morte for not touring with PIG. Strangely enough the one I'm most looking forward to is Voltaire; at least he's funny.

Speaking of funny, did you guys see South Park last night? Totally awesome. More than made up for that lame-ass San Francisco episode. It had Bart Simpson! And Cartman's line about feeding the kid his dead parents! And "at least Family Guy's not all preachy and up it's own ass with messages" (paraphrased). Hee!!! And a really chilling message about censorship, too, for that matter. *loves*

Have you guys been reading Kevin Smith's blog? "Me and My Shadow" is brilliant. Thanks, 10zlaine, for pointing this out to me. Kevin Smith rocks.

A good many of the restaurants are still closed or are operating on limited menus (via someone currently living in NO).

I'll be interested in hearing what it's like from you when you get back. The Mardi Gras coverage made it seem as if things were fairly sane, but I've read that there's only a small strip near the river that habitable, and the rest is still mostly abandoned.

There's been a bunch of info about what's open posted in the various Convergence communities. A lot of stuff in the French Quarter (where the convention is) has apparently reopened. I guess I'll see when I get there, though.

Heh, I would (give Bella Morte shit), except I don't know them and anyway, don't want to deal with/cause melodrama. :P

CT ... oh yeah. I might have to leave Sunday night so as not to miss any work, but that should be okay. I'm sure there's a train or something....

Oh, and that guy Geoffrey from San Francisco is maybe coming with his girlfriend, and they're maybe looking for someone to room with. Should I offer the possibility of sharing with us?

I'm not sure if there's a way to get LJ to show the SuperVegan authors. The author is in the RSS feed, but LJ isn't picking it up. Their FAQ doesn't say anything about it. I'll have to explore the issue further...

Keep your eye out for some of my posts this weekend. Through the magic of technology (aka post-dating entries), I'll be "blogging" while actually passed out drunk in a New Orleans hotel room. Yay!

I wouldn't worry about the CT thing; I'll probably drive or something, so that might make it easier to get you where you need to be!
