There’s a preview and two advance clips out for the upcoming episode of Supernatural…

Okay, first, the preview! Dean with fangs, covered in blood? I thought I was going to explode! I don't even want to admit how many times I rewatched that. I CANNOT WAIT FOR FRIDAY.

Second, this clip is so freaking awesome! Dean's mockery of Twilight sounds straight out of fandom. I love when SPN goes meta. Although Dean Winchester criticizing the misogyny in a popular text is, um, ironic? But nice! (Dear show: please apply this critical gaze to yourself.)

And between Dean knowing Taylor Lautner's name (is that guy known for anything beyond being a sexy werewolf pin-up?), and this clip, and previously Dean's crush on Dr. Sexy ("Changing Channels") and discomfort with the gay LARPers ("The Real Ghostbusters"), I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Dean's slightly homophobic reactions are a result of discomfort with his own bisexuality. Like, not just in a I'm-wearing-my-slash-goggles way, but that I think this is a valid reading of the text that makes the most sense of what we keep seeing--Dean gets crushes on guys and in typical Dean fashion, deals with it by repressing and acting like a dick. (Though as usual, it's played for humor--see season five of Angel the Series for another example of slashy subtext bleeding into the text, but only in a jokey way. And of course there's the Dean/Castiel moments, but those feel more like shoutouts to the fandom than accurate reflections of the relationship in the text.)

Anyway. VAMPIRE!DEAN. (!!!) Is it Friday yet?
